"BABASA" The Bed and Breakfast Association of South Africa was founded in October 1997, launched on the 27th of February 1998 and registered as a Section 21 non-profit Company on the 29th of April 1998. In 2006 BABASA changed from "The Bed and Breakfast Association of South Africa" to the Guest Accommodation Association. This change enabled BABASA to incorporate all accommodation establishments in South Africa.
BABASA Goals:
To inform its members of industry news and happenings; To encourage its members to offer good quality, safe, clean and value for money accommodation; To encourage its members to achieve the standards as set out through the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa; To encourage its members to at all times to put the guests first; To encourage its members to have a professional and well trained staff; To encourage its members to promote the association amongst guests; and To encourage its members to "Rather refer than refuse".
